Burt's words-

"The knife is done, attached is a photo. I like the way the bronze came out, but I decided not to do the heavy patina. It looks better with the light patina that's starting to develop than what I was doing to it. As you can see I used the sheoak handle - thought it was a more interesting piece. Not a typical burl pattern like the other. and the handle is custom sized for girly palms! :)"

Laminated blade, somewhere north of 4 1/2", bronze guard with ss spacer, ss pins in handle, stabilized sheoak that I provided from Alpha Knife Supply.

What do you think?

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Wow! That is a beautiful knife. I am always stunned when I see one of Burt's laminated blades. Thanks for posting STeven. Where is the bladed being "submitted"?

The blade is being submitted to "me" for the 10 year Burt Foster Knife Collection Project.:)

meh, it's ok.
:D

I love that transition between the core and sides, looks like sound waves. Besides Roger's little damascus utility knife, this the the nicest little Foster I've seen. Great work you two:thumbup:

"Girly palms" - that dude cracks me up. :D Love the knife. I'm a fan of Burt's laminates in general and like the almost geometric cardiogram look of this one quite a bit. Beautiful wood, too. I might have preferred one pin to three, but that's picking nits.

Another great knife added to the "Project"

Congrats to Burt for making an excellent knife and to you Steven for getting closer to the end of your quest.

Take care

Charles

Not picking nits, it's kind of how I feel too, but try not to micromanage Burt....you can see from the pics that he knows how to do a single pin as well as three.

So, did you awnswer him? What do you think?

I told him I thought it was masterful, and I might want him to shave the front of the handle a bit.;)

IMO It would be hard, if not impossible, to make a knife look better than that. Outstanding piece, STeven.
