As we're about to ring in the new year, I was just thinking about all the different things going in the Becker arena these days. We've got activities and swag for the Beckerheads, a possible Beckerhead knife, more developments on the Tweeners, possible news on a new Machax, and so on. Lots to look forward to...

There was also mention of a spring chop-in of sorts, and if that event manifests and the weekend jives at all with my schedule, I'll be making the drive over to east TN. Also, for the first time since '08, I'm going to Blade this year, and I hope to meet some of the folks who post here regularly. I got to meet Ethan at the '08 show and took along an early Magnum Camp for him to see. Lots of fun.

Who else is going to be up for a trip to Tennessee or Atlanta this year?

Oh, I'm going. I got lots of friends I want to see, so, I know that Blade is the most likely place to find those reprobates. We need to organize as many people there from the Beckerheads, that can, want, or will go, to support Ethan, Toooj, John, and the rest of Kabar. We will need to fine tune travel arrangements and for those that are going to be going, see what kind of hotel accomodations we can make.

Car pooling and group rates for hotels, should allow some folks to go that might not go other wise.

It will be an affair to remember, I think Ethan, Jeff, and Mike are going to be doing the "Rascal Joust" on the little scooters you can rent, and who knows what else. Gonna be one helluva party in the evenings too, ya'll should start planning now.

Here's the link: http://www.blademag.com/bladeshow/

There is also a place to look at travel arrangements on there.

I have family all around the Atlanta area. I'll probably stay with my uncle. He just started making knives, and I'd like to take him for at least one day to see all there is to see. Still, I'm up for whatever when it comes to reprobate activity.

Having made the trip to Blade this past June for the first time, I will definitely be going back in 2011. There are a whole bunch of folks I'm anxious to meet that are now a part of the Beckerhead family (as well as some of those RATS!, excuse me!, ESEEites!). It was a special thrill to meet Ethan this past June, as well as Tooj from Kabar. As I roamed the auditorium I also got to meet some of the other knife makers that have us all salivating for their steel; Chris and Ann Reeves, Jerry Busse, Rick Hinderer, Mike Perin and many others that I've never met in person. So, yes I will definitely be there this June looking for all of the forumites as well.

Another thing about Blade. Since we don't all recognize each other, do you all think it might be a good idea to write our Bladeforum usernames on the ID stickies they issue at the door? I could walk past Guyon, or Bladite, or Moose without even knowing it, but their username on their "Hello, my name is..." would prevent that. Or, maybe a gathering at a specific time in front of the Kabar/Becker booth might also work. Hopefully we can figure something out before then.

I hope to have the patches, tshirts and other swag ready before then, so we might be easier to spot one another.

Drunken Reprobates will gather at the daily designated areas after the show, for um, er, travel arrangements.

I don't know, man. There are some members over in Razors, Scissors, and Personal Grooming who would probably slash my throat with a straight razor if they knew who I was. Anyway, I'll be the guy in black satin and stilettos.

:D

Do pictures of the new products get posted here?

If so that would be awesome....

6'0ft tall, 235lbs, tarp hat, woodland camo para bracelet, kilt, and a Becker/Kabar tshirt. I don't think I'll be that hard to find. Never know though.

Dog-tag swag! That would'nt clash to badly with a kilt, but stilettos?
