so i've looked over the 2011 catalog and i'm extremely excited for the native 5. i was just wondering when exactly they'll be available and when a price will be up. i'm not even sure where they'll be for sale. i've never purchased a knife that has just been released, besides the para 2 s90v, but that was an ebay purchase. anyone have any info for me? thanks

I'd say it's going to be released next tuesday. if not next tuesday then the tuesday after that. if it's still not released simply reread my post until it is released.

No, but asking for a specific date is like asking for a broken heart. ;) Simply let it arrive like manna from heaven.

i dont even want a date. a quarter would be nice. thought id ask around and see if anyone knew anything. i feel as excited as when a movie im really really looking forward to is on the horizon, haha

The "general rule" is that Spydero hopes to have any knife which appears in a given year's catalog in dealer's hands before August of that year. Most times they make it, but then there's the Yachtsman, which appeared in the 1986 catalog and has still not made it out the door. ;)

The Native IV was not one of the models Sal specifically mentioned as "coming soon" in this thread. It also is not among the models a couple of the dealers who take "pre-orders" for Spyderco knives have on their pre-order lists. Given those two things, I'd guess the Native IV is still at least several months away. The "good news" is that once they're out, they should be available from any dealer who carries Spyderco and, unlike your S90V Para 2, they'll be regular production, so they should stay available for quite a while.
