Hey folks, this weekend is the 2011 Stone Tools Technology Show at Letchworth state park. As in past years they'll have a 19th century mountain men encampment as well as flintknapping, atlatl throwing, and all sorts of primitive skills and vendors(last year I picked up a belt axe and some sheaths.) I always have a great time at this event.

I'll be camping out in the park, so maybe some of us will be able to meet up!

This year's show is Saturday, August 27, 2011 until Sunday, August 28, 2011 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM.

Well, I'll be there around noontime on Saturday. I'll wear a hat with the BladeForums W&SS patch on the front, and an American flag patch on the back.

John G.- I will be there, hopefully saturday. I will know for sure tomorrow night. If not sat, then maybe sun. I am going there to get me one of those axes. I was gonna get it online, but would like to check out the handle real good first. What campsite you gonna be at ?

I will be there saturday.

Twinstick, sorry to have missed you. I just got back home, and phone/internet wasn't good in the park. Did you end up finding an axe?

Pitchers. Worthless without pitchers. You did bring us some photos of the event and the wares? Please?

I did, but i am not real happy with it. I am no slouch when it comes to sharpening. I can't seem to get a razors edge on it & the edge i do get dulls VERY quickly, (within a dozen chops). The guy i bought from said it was his last one & his personal one (already stained & burnt handle). He told me (BS or not-???) some guy showed up before 10:00am & bought all 2 dozen, which was all he had. He had no sheaths either. I like it a lot. Fits right in my belt very well. I just wish i could get it sharper & the edge would last & i could have got a sheath for it.
