I'm looking for general info on the 2012 Annual Sebenza's. Do the annuals normally come out at a certain time of year? Can you request a specific inlay? Are they listed anywhere?

They already came out in November of 2011. Google Chris Reeve knives and that will bring up CRK dealers. Look through the dealers CRK inventory and I am sure you will find the annuals.
The 2012 annuals only came in Wenge wood with gold and silver beads in the inlay. No other inlay options were/are available.

Hey BBQ those were the 2011's dude! No info out on the 2012's AFAIK. They come out near the end of the year.

For the first time, I actually had the chance to buy a CRK Annual this past year........And they layed an egg with the 2011 offering. The Wenge looked like old decking planking, then to add the gold dots made it even worse.......Normally, Annuals are the most beautiful offerings by CRK. 2011 was easily the worst offerings to date. I was so bummed.......I know I am not the only one as there are still 2011 Annuals on Dealers Sites. Oh Well, if the world doesn't end this year, maybe CRK will offer a nicer wood option for the 2012 Annuals.

Email CR and ask to be on the list for 2012. They will come out towards the end of the year. I got on in Jan of 2011. I got my email asking if I was still interested and I chose not to purchase as I was not quite as fond of them as my 2009 annual. If you are on the list you can at least say no thanks.

In 2008 you could get Bubinga, Stainwood, and Mammoth. In 2009 you could get Thuya, Box Elder. In 2010 you could get Camphor, Spalted Maple. And in 2011 you had only one choice. The best years for annuals were 2005, 2006,and 2007, with many different types of wood plus Mammoth bark. I see a pattern that the future years might only offer one type of wood. I guess we will find out in the fall of 2012.

If you want to get on this years list, you'd better hurry. It may already be closed. The way it works is - you sign up on the list for the next year's edition about the time the previous model comes out (October-December). This is sort of a blind list because CRK won't announce which inlays will be available until summer comes around, and they usually are NOT from the standard CRK offerings.

I just placed my order with Heather at CRK for a small 2012 Annual. I can't wait to hear what he inlay will be.
