THIS IS NON-BINDING BUT PLEASE ONLY VOTE IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY PLANNING ON BUYING AT LEAST ONE KNIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!!!

That being said, the last poll left us a bit confused over who actually plans to buy a knife, so hopefully this will make things simpler for us and Spark to figure out how many knives are going to be purchased. Please let us know how many knives you want. Keep in mind that we need 200 knives (or at least close to it) for the $125 price tag. We will still try to negotiate that price down, but for right now, expect the cost to be $125 + shipping.

So, here's the spec that we sent GEC, CSC, and Queen (with only a serious response from GEC):

2012 Bladeforums Knife
Pattern: Curved Jack/Trapper (see attached photo titled curvedjack.jpg)
Size: 3-5/8" - 3-7/8"
Blades: Wharncliffe Primary behind a Turkish Clip Primary, half stops on both blades
Nail Nicks: Standard, both on shield side (placed so blades do not interfere with nicks)
Blade Steel: 1095 carbon
Blade Finish: Satin, Swedges on both blades, no etch, no serial numbers
Bolster and Liner Material: Nickel Silver
Blade Tangs: Must accomodate Bladeforums Tang Stamp (one pip must be removed so that there are 8 left - to be provided), "2012" tang stamp
Bolster Style: Rattail (one thick groove), Bareheaded (bolster only on pivot end - none on non-pivot end)
Scale Material & Color: Bone (see attached photo titled Bone.jpg for COLOR ONLY!!!! - GEC calls this "Green Tea Stained")
Scale Finish: Jigged as shown in attached photo titled jigging.jpg
Shield: "Sharp" Bomb (see attached photo titled sharpbomb.jpg) - must be pinned
Delivery: By November 9
We require a computer-generated model and/or prototype for approval.

We will provide custom label for the box. The artist has prepared the label art in previous years and is cognizant of the manufacturers' intellectual property rights. We will provide a proof to the manufacturer for their approval.

And here's the line drawing of GEC's interpretation:

Now, this is not the place to gripe, comment, complain, send death threats, etc. This is the place to telll us how many knives you plan to buy (or abstain if you don't want a knife). Please don't clutter up this thread.

Thanks. I'm going to run this for two weeks (hopefully we get to 200 before then).

This post is nicely put together and I enjoyed seeing the reference photos. I am in for ATLEAST one. I have not voted yet since I may buy more, especially if necessary to bump us over the 200 mark.

I will say that this post cleared up some things I was unsure about (scale material and finish specifically) and now I am in no matter what.

I voted for one, but I'll buy two, if it's necessary to bump up the numbers a little.

As in the previous, I'll throw down for two.... One for me and one for a lucky member sometime down the road. :)

In for 1 definitely. Maybe 2 if finances permit.

Glenn

I voted for 2 and if needed I'll do that. Otherwise I'm definitely in for 1.

I'm in for two! But I'll get a couple more if it helps to
get us over the hump...

Jason

In for one, this is my only bigger knife purchase of the year and wont miss this for anything! :)

OK ... I'm in (again), Wintermute.

Given the somewhat worrying previous results, I'm committing to two (2).

Willing to re-consider and possibly add another if it's absolutely necessary.:)

[EDIT: Daughter wanted me to commit to "3.14159262...". What a card! That's pi to a few decimal places for the uninitiated and non-Geeky.]

I am in for ONE. You all will have to let me know when it is time to produce $ assuming the knife is made by GEC.

I will be in for one. I am new to traditional so this would be nice to start up the collection.

I'm definitely in for at least (1). Will seriosly consider a second once I see the finished product. This will be my first forum knife and I'm really excited about this design. Thanks again to all involved for making this possible.

I've been getting them since 2006. I can honestly say I'm extremely happy with every single one.

I don't think you'll be displeased with the final product.
