THIS IS NON-BINDING BUT PLEASE ONLY VOTE IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY PLANNING ON BUYING AT LEAST ONE KNIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!!!
That being said, the last poll left us a bit confused over who actually plans to buy a knife, so hopefully this will make things simpler for us and Spark to figure out how many knives are going to be purchased. Please let us know how many knives you want. Keep in mind that we need 200 knives (or at least close to it) for the $125 price tag. We will still try to negotiate that price down, but for right now, expect the cost to be $125 + shipping.
So, here's the spec that we sent GEC, CSC, and Queen (with only a serious response from GEC):
2012 Bladeforums Knife
Pattern: Curved Jack/Trapper (see attached photo titled curvedjack.jpg)
Size: 3-5/8" - 3-7/8"
Blades: Wharncliffe Primary behind a Turkish Clip Primary, half stops on both blades
Nail Nicks: Standard, both on shield side (placed so blades do not interfere with nicks)
Blade Steel: 1095 carbon
Blade Finish: Satin, Swedges on both blades, no etch, no serial numbers
Bolster and Liner Material: Nickel Silver
Blade Tangs: Must accomodate Bladeforums Tang Stamp (one pip must be removed so that there are 8 left - to be provided), "2012" tang stamp
Bolster Style: Rattail (one thick groove), Bareheaded (bolster only on pivot end - none on non-pivot end)
Scale Material & Color: Bone (see attached photo titled Bone.jpg for COLOR ONLY!!!! - GEC calls this "Green Tea Stained")
Scale Finish: Jigged as shown in attached photo titled jigging.jpg
Shield: "Sharp" Bomb (see attached photo titled sharpbomb.jpg) - must be pinned
Delivery: By November 9
We require a computer-generated model and/or prototype for approval.
We will provide custom label for the box. The artist has prepared the label art in previous years and is cognizant of the manufacturers' intellectual property rights. We will provide a proof to the manufacturer for their approval.
And here's the line drawing of GEC's interpretation:
Now, this is not the place to gripe, comment, complain, send death threats, etc. This is the place to telll us how many knives you plan to buy (or abstain if you don't want a knife). Please don't clutter up this thread.
Thanks. I'm going to run this for two weeks (hopefully we get to 200 before then).
