Time for a second, and hopefully final, handle anodizing color poll. The previous poll was mainly a race between Blue (18 votes as of this post) and Gray (13 votes), with no others coming particularly close to those two. It also didn't include any dark green options, which crimsonfalcon and others, myself included, would be eager to see but weren't sure if Darrel could make happen.

As a result of the discussion in the original color thread, our tireless moderator Hark checked with Darrel about the possibility of other colors: Darrel's response was that if we want another color, we'll need to give him the Pantone color code. Scurvy092 and crimsonfalcon helpfully looked up the color/code charts, and the one that seems to be closest to what we want (Pantone 3435 [Evergreen]) is pictured below. Note, though, that the anodized color may end up looking somewhat different from how the Pantone color looks on a given individual's computer monitor, phone, tablet, or other glowing rectangle of choice, so it's a bit of a gamble that it'll turn out how we want.

Love that green. Its unique too for a handle color, which im a big fan of. It gets my vote.

I'm just not quite sure yet. I do like the green, but I also like the other 2. I will wait to cast my vote.

I'm still voting for blue..

I'm a big fan of Olive Drab, but other greens on a knife, just don't seem to fit to me, IMO.

Went shark grey with green as second choice. Just really like the grey with the blade.

Problem with that is that Darrel's version of Olive Drab came out looking like fecal matter yellow...

And... we almost have enough people to do a run with gamble green.

Yeah, no kidding. :barf:

A nice thing about a shade of green as dark as the one in the poll is that, while it's still a gamble, it seems like there's more of a margin for error. If it comes out darker than expected, it'll likely just look black, with the green only being apparent if it's held in very bright neutral light. If it comes out lighter than expected, it would have to be a lot lighter than the Pantone color to start getting into the gray/yellow territory that the other "greens" in the HTM lineup have ended up in.

The green in the poll has 24 votes but that doesn't mean people who voted for other colors won't buy one if they end up being green.

I'd prefer blue but green won't discourage me from buying one :D

Exactly what I was going to say. Green is my top pick, but I'll be buying this knife even if one of the other colors ends up winning.

In general, at least among knife nuts, as long as the handle color isn't anything too ridiculous (pink, fecal matter yellow, etc.), it seems like handle color isn't a huge factor for most people. Things like blade shape, blade steel, and, perhaps to a lesser extent, opening mechanism and blade finish seem to play a much bigger role.

And lock!
