Congrats on the award Ben!
Looks to be a functional yet beautiful knife! Leather work ain't to shabby either.

No need to be embarrassed of the insert photo,
You're definitely more handsome than some of the "other" award winners pictured on Chuck's site :D

Ben is a great example of a lot of folks coming up now. Lots of talent, more importantly,he has the drive and is willing to do hard work to improve.

This was a really nice knife, and not the only good one he had in Little Rock, either.

Go, Ben!

Congrats again Ben. It's nice to see such talent and ambition from a young man. It's makers like this that we ol timers are proud of.

Pat David on the back also. That's a fine looking sheath and I particularly like the contrasting grain Shark overlays.

Paul

Really nice lines on that knife - congrats on the award! Pleased to see this genre recognized in this way - props to the peeps in Little Rock.

This is a very nice knife

I picked it up at the Show, and it was nicely balanced - which is to say it is lighter than it looks, with just enough forward heft to be a great chopper if needed.

Very well finished also

Bill

Thanks y'all, congratulations to John White on his award...a lot bigger than mine. Bill, I do try to make all of my knives feel lively in the hand, no matter how big they are. You don't want to be throwin' your back out tryin' to pick it up.
Should have my first JS presentation knife posted soon. I'll try to keep y'all updated as they progress. Thanks,
Ben

Ben, could we blow that insert picture up some?? ;) Congratulations on the award! Well deserved, and that was a super nice piece of blackwood you put the curves to. It felt very good in hand.

Your right Joe, it was nice Blackwood that fit the hand very nice. Over all it's one of the best camp knives I have ever picked up. Clean fit and finish, nice line and flow with nice leather in Chuck's mastery of the lens.

Chris

Congratulations again Ben. Excellent work. I look forward to seeing your JS submission knives. Thanks Roger, certain people felt that there should be a camp knife category, so I decided to sponsor the award, and the good folks at the AKA made it so. I look forward to seeing more great knives in this category.
Brion

I think camp knife is a category that doesn't get much attention...why do y'all think I tried for it! Maybe this will change in the future. Thanks Brion, for sponsoring this category. Does anyone know if there's a camp knife category at BLADE? Thanks,
Ben

No camp knife category at Blade as of last year.

Congratulations on the win, it looks great. Twenty years from now you'll be glad you're in the shot to reminisce.

Twenty years from now? I'd hate to see Jerry Fisk's socks then...he's sayin' he's got socks and hunting boots older than me. Man, we're gonna have to pass the hat for some new socks for him...I guess man just can't make a livin' makin' knives, about all I've done so far is make a mess! LOL!
Ben

Well deserved award. Looks like your regular ultra percise execution.
I'm really liking your Dad's sheaths as well.

Thanks Kevin, Dad started making my sheaths about 2 years ago. Its been fun working together on this. We've been together for years now in construction. I'm glad to continue the tradition. Ben
