I am making the annoucement for the 2013 project well before I usually do,but there is a reason.

As the title states,we have a special project this year.all of the participants are ABS Mastersmiths!

Terry Vandeventer forged a beatiful mosaic damascus blade, and John White finished the knife in his take down method of construction, and the handle is a beautiful pice of walrus ivory donated by Don Hanson.

The knife then was passed on to Tim Hancock, who made a fantastic throat and tip sheath, and Steve Dunn topped it al of with some of his beautifl engraving.

The knife and sheath will be housed in a maple display case that will be made by Bill Buxton, and Tom Ferry will engrave a name plaque with all of the participants and thier contributions!

This is a really beautiful knife,as it sits here in front of me on my desk as I type this. The final 2 elements are yet to come.

LaylaI want to thank all of the participants on doing their part to make this a really special project that will hopefully raise a lot of money for the March of Dimes!

Now for an annoucement.

Due to several circumstances,Layla and I have decided this will be the last of these projects,at least for a little while, but at least we will be going out with a bang!

The plan is to have this knife at Atlanta this year.Terry will have it with him athe the CKCA banquet, and John will then have it on his table,so please go by and have a look!
A WIP thread will follow soon!

John, once again an amazing package for a worthy cause. I have two questions. One.....which John are you referring to? And two.....a pic or two wouldn't hurt.

Going out with a bang for sure. What a big undertaking for 2013 John. It sounds like its going to work out to be a terrific cased bowie and sheath. Anxious to see it come to completion.
Congrats to all that are involved.
