For me it was the Bucklite 424, carried in the bottom of my right front jean's pocket every day. It saw the most use and always performed on demand like a real trooper. And a solid reason why Americans envy their terrific neighbors to the north the Canadians with their Canadian Tire model of the 424 (no nail nick!).

I can spot four climbers in this telephoto shot taken Saturday.

Friend from Hollywood, LA saluting the mountain with back to camera, note back country skier hiking up the mtn. About one mile from Government Camp.

This could be an interesting thread!!

For me in 2013 it was this beauty...a Damascus Paradigm. I love the action on these.

The mostly used Buck knife was an old, badly used two dot 110.

2013...2012...2011... kept on the bench and the very first tool into the pocket when "doing stuff" around the house is my Odyssey:

in hand feel and function of these gems is just so natural to me, seamlessly smooth...

There were several I alternated with, depending on the task or scenario at hand.
After thinking for a bit, I determined it was the 055 that was used the most.
This was my garden harvesting choice, and was used to harvest thousands of food items.

I just got this one a few days ago, but I will bet anything that it will ,by a country mile, be the most used Buck for me in 2014 ;)

I used my Vantage Select pretty often. Feels comfortable in pocket and hand, and has gotten the job done.

For me, hands down, it was one of my Vantages. I rotate them fairly regularly but it was very rare for me not to have one on me, my favorite being the Desert Tan Vantage Force Pro.

oregon and Haebbie…nice photos!!

Thought I would add one of the scenery I got to see today walking along the Withlachoochee River and the knife I was carrying on this hike.
Look at the high water line on that cyprus tree across the river.

I did carry this Vantage Pro a lot in 2013 too. :)

My most frequently carried Buck Knife in 2013 was this 303 Cadet - used for light cutting chores; my most frequently used for outdoor chores was this 102 Woodsman - skinned/cleaned/cut up deer, turkey, and waterfowl. OH

In frigid Peru Indiana, where it is 40 below with the wind chill, Larry Oden (boy he looks cold in this photo) shows us his user. Someone please get Larry a hot cocoa. Anybody...

My wish is to live at altitude. Really. You could do worse.

A white colored cane in this country means that the user is blind. I see a white cane in your hand.

I cool dude in my neighborhood led groups of blind youths up Mt. Baker, Northern Washington State Cascade mountain peak back in the D.A.Y.. Last time I saw him, he does terrific repair work on gear and his shop is lousy with vintage alpine staffs/ice axes and crampons, I lost track of time and fell into conversations about the mountain life of both of our youths. Neither one of us could shut up while my lovely wife waited in the car patiently.

That blade choil is deep enough to allow your index finger to fit into it which allows for fine control of the tip of the blade and with the gimping on top of the heal of the blade you could do surgery. I was at timberline lodge, a WPA project on Mt. Hood, and talked with the curator about preserving depression era carvings. Some pieces, life-size buffalo head for example, are undergoing their third rehabilitation. Everything seems to be hand carved into beaver, lion, bear, fish and such in that lodge of massive wood timbers. Worth a visit. The building is an antique. I was climbing one evening and stopped to talk to some carpenters working on a warming hut and drank whiskey from a bottle before returning to the night hike. Lonely above Palmer Glacier's machine groomed surface after the ski patrol calls it quits. My kind of place. Ever carve any critters, flowers or that kind of embellishment? I love seeing it but I haven't ever done it.

DesertChris,

It is the knife I have with me that gets the most use outside the kitchen.

That 55 would be easy to take anywhere. Great tang stamp and beautiful wood pattern on the scales. Everyone should have one of those.

I think it's my 302. I carried it for about a month straight, then it entered a rotation with other knives. It's handsome and thin, with a comfortable handle. It's a good EDC knife. I've developed a taste for carbon steel though. Too bad Buck doesn't deal in carbon steel (at least in their affordable knives).

Sunandsteel and NWPutnam,

I am still in awe of my Vantage so I haven't carried it. The right size, flat for deep pocket carry, one-hander action, broadly applicable drop point blade and grippy. A crowd pleaser model for sure.

Looks like snapping turtle country to my red eyes. Native American names are some of the best language I've ever enjoyed seeing and trying to pronounce. Never boring and often perverted by time and history and the lack of a written language by the natives. The water looks clear and you, my friend, have beat the winter weather uh huh. Whipped it. Unlike chilly Larry Oden above. Poor sole.

That Blue paperstone, like Lapis, is a joy to lay eyes on. Rich looking. One of my favorite colors. Good choice.
