With vacation time running low this year I managed to get in a 6 day sheep hunt. After watching a band of 5 rams (with one legal) for a couple days they finally bedded in a position that offered a stalk. We where supposed to flip a coin to see who got the stalk, which my friend graciously declined and told me to go for it. The wind held, the cliffs offered a route to the bedded rams, one shot and the rest is history.

Now back to the knife shop to raise some funds for the taxidermy bill!

Nice lookin ram!! That's another hunt I would love to do, just went for antelope with my dad two weeks ago, and even though it was his tag and I was just a scout, it was still a successful hunt for me when he pulled the trigger!

Whatchya shootin and at what yardage?

I am even more impressed! Nice work! Now, did you use one of your own knives to dress it?

That's a handsome Stone, Bruce, and quite a feat of patient hunting with a bow. Many congrats!

I love those wide heads . . . does he go 40"?

Thanks black mamba. I guess I'm a poor judge of sheep since I thought he was ~35". After getting the tape on him at home he measured a couple inches longer.

He does go wide - 28" of flare! The ram I took with a rifle a few years back had curl that just came straight on - 22" wide and with a white face. This dark wide ram makes a nice contrast.

Bruce, congrats! What a fine ram, I can't get over how wide he is and the coloration, outstanding animal. Going to make a fine mount. The fact that you did it with a bow, just icing on the cake. Your making knives and arrowing trophy caliber animals in one the last wild places on Earth. Your living the dream, my friend, living the dream. Kudos!

Thanks Mike! I am pretty luck to live here, goes well with my hunting and fishing addiction:)

Fantastic, Bruce. A ram that size with a bow is one for the "life list!!"

That's for sure Smithhammer - he is going on my wall!

He still looks alive.

Dipbait - After the shot the five rams ran/disappeared into the cliffs - after about 70 yards only 4 came out. We knew he was in there so we only waited several minutes before going down to look for him - I had about 200m to backtrack to fetch my pack. He hadn't been dead long before the pics started....

Congratulations Bruce!!! That is a trophy especially with a bow!!! I would kill to be able to go on a sheep hunt! Now only if they would make BC the 51st State then I would be living there!!!
