Lorien,
It has a slightly different style of construction than most of my knives. The red spacers are actually G10 and not the vulcanized stuff. They are all separate pieces that are not glued together. I wanted to be able to thin the horn material down after the surrounding onlay was to finished size and shape so I couldn't glue it all together. Putting it together is fun, it all stacks up. The red spacer between the horn and the onlay is only visible from the the top where it's exposed. The other fun thing is the back spacer. There are thru holes in the backspacer, tapped holes and large holes to hold it all down to my CNC fixture. Some of the frame screws go through to the opposite frame, others screw into the backspacer from both sides............including one of the pocket clip screws. The pocket clip looks like it's mounted up on standoffs but they are actually machined and part of the clip. Having 3 points like that makes mounting the clip to the contoured frame very easy and I think it provides a unique look. I have about 3 other backspacers on my bench with the tapped/clearance holes in the wrong place, LOL!!! Todd Fischer and I talked about making one of these together, using ques from both our styles. Should be fun.
