2013 vs 2012 Emerson Liner Lock comparison?

Hi I was wondering if the liner on the 2013 model was indeed thicker than the 2012 models as I have seen pictures of the 2013 model with 1 thick and 1 thin liner. I bought 2 emersons new from dealers and both were 2012 models. I'm wondering this as I would prefer a 2013 model and a thicker liner. Thanks

From what I've seen it more depends on the model, not the year.

Not an expert here, but my friend's older CQC7 is thick/thin, my 2012 Horseman is thick/thin but my 2012 CQC8 is thick on both sides. They are identical.

Older Emersons used to have two same thickness titanium liners. Some time after 2006 they made a change to a stainless steel non-lock side that was thinner than the Ti-lock side. Recently they appear to have been changing to a thicker non-lock side (same thickness again as the lock side) but I believe it's still stainless. Not sure of EKI's reason for this recent change, but since they are also moving towards threaded standoff's and non-threaded liners, the symmetry makes sense to me, plus it just looks better IMHO.

edit to add: I don't believe the lock side thickness has changed at any point on standard production linerlock EKI's.

- This has been my experience as well. My knives...

2010 CQC-10: Thick
2011 CQC-7: Thick
2012 CQC-10: Thick
2012 Mini Roadhouse: Thick

2010 Combat Karambit: Thin
2012 Traveler: Thin
2012 Combat Karambit: Thin

I have a 2013 horseman with standoffs and it has liners of the same thickness on each side.
