2014 Mammoth Sebenza? legit?

Yes it appears so. The handwriting seemed to be out of the ordinary.

Plus I also remembered from reading somewhere that Chris dropped the mammoth sometime ago.
 
There are plans to not obtain more mammoth when the supply on hand runs out (last I heard). A very popular online retailer has several like this, and they recently posted several more mammoth BARK Sebenzas. I would surmise that they are still in production, or recently went out of production.

That concern alone (birth date) would not dissuade me at all.

The signature is something I am not an expert on, but is looks simiar to one on one of my knive's birth cards.
 
FYI-- the knife is brand new and bought from a Chris Reeve dealer.
For those who know me on here, know I am a stand up guy and if their is anything wrong with this knife I would be happy to take it back.

I have a few other of Chris's knives and feel this one is a little big for me to carry.

I dont understand, are you suggeting that they would use a different word, or are you suggesting that the handwritting for that word seems different from the rest of the card?

Either way, *I* would not be concerned with anything on that birth card. But I am just some guy sitting in a living room in Missouri.

If I were in the market for this variation, I would probably pounce on this one, it is priced well compared to where I have seen it elsewhere...but again, I am just some guy, and free advice (if you take it that way) is at best, worth the price;)
 
LOL, it could be a real a 100% real CRK Sebenza with 100% fake mammoth for all that 97% of buyers would ever know, and could probably change hands indefinitely without anyone knowing. I'm not insinuating it isn't real at all, just that I really don't know how you could tell either way short of a jeweler or lab. Could be mammoth toe nail for all I'd know! ;)

It's a very nice knife in my opinion and I noticed it as well. The price is very nice too! I just bought a large damascus box elder and am bummed I didn't go with mammoth to a certain degree with all the mammoth threads out there right now. Ah well.
 
I so want a mammoth. Have always been looking for a nice bark mammoth, but they are few and far inbetween. I want one to just plain use. Decisions Decisions...... My thing has always been, I could buy 2 sebenzas for what 1 mammoth costs. I have safe queens and dont need another, which mammoth always seems to end up being I am sure. Perhaps someday I will give up on the 2 for 1 and just buy one.....lol
 
In the past we saw Mammoth beeing used for inlays at the end of the year.
So it is not uncommon to see one born at the very beginning of a year.
As stated above there are legit dealers out there, that got similar knives these days.
Handwriting is just that, and should be seen as a nice touch and not a hind towards doubt.

Well, not sure if this adds anything to the issue of CRK and mammoth. I ordered a set of mammoth bark CRK's (Lg, sm and Mnd) about two years ago. Initially they said it would be six month wait. Then they said it would probably be another six months. After that when I called to "check-in" they said "we still have the order and it should be ready in the next 60 days". That was about a year or so ago. I've kind of given up on the order and no longer call to inquire, since I can't really rely on the answer. Maybe some day CRK will complete the order, but I kind of doubt it.
