2014 Mini Commander question

I received a 2014 M-Com on Thursday from Blade HQ, the knife fits my hand like a glove but I had a few concerns.

I noticed the laser etching on the blade is uneven and very faint on the right hand side, I also noticed a machining mark on the left hand side of the etching, I can catch my nail on it. Are these 2 things normal? I hate to be picky but I bought this knife to signify the year of marriage, 2014. I plan on keeping it for a long time and wanted to get a knife that I knew would last, and something I could be proud of for many years to come.

If it makes you feel any better, I got a CQC-7 in March and the laser etching was uneven like yours. The machining mark? Eh just use it and scratch it up some more!

If it really bothers you though you can exchange it and ask BHQ to hand pick you one.

Yeah, in this particular case I'd ask for an exchange too.

I have a Super Commander with the same light etching on the right side like yours. It doesn't bother me as I really put my knives through a lot of use. But, if it bothers you I'm certain Emerson will have your back. You should contact EmersonRep and he will help you out.

If memory serves me correctly this like the second person to deal with BladeHQ that has had similar problems,and the last one was less than thirty days ago? Wonder if the receiving clucks at BladeHQ inspect incoming shipments, or there is a bigger problem.

True, and we don't need to be detectives and search for an explanation either. Just let BladeHQ know and they will gladly sort it out I'm sure. Just like the last one.

Edit to add: My Commander has all but lost the etching under the Emerson logo and under the thumb disk where the number is.

It was as you said but the RED FLAG to me was after EmersonRep, and a Guy from BladeHQ got involved the person that started the thread never posted, and ending to the story. Or said something like it was sent to EKI, AND HE WAS AWAITING RETURN.

Hate stories that no endings are written for. BTW EmersonRep is already involved in fixing this problem.:thumbup:

Thanks guys. I'm going to see if BladeHQ will exchange for another MCom. Any other time it wouldn't matter so much, but this knife has a sentimental value behind it.
