Szabo's folder is going away already huh? It seems like an awful lot of material and technical innovation for such a small price. I wonder if that had anything to do with it...

The gold wire CF laminate version is going away, the black bladed version with a different CF laminate is taking its place.
 
Out of that list I only need to go get a Byrd Wings. I've put that off for a while. It's not nearly as bad a list as I thought it would be.

Oh right, I forgot there was a newer one. I keep thinking I should buy one, but haven't gotten around to it. It's good to know one will still be around later on.
 
I may have to grab a Junior after the holidays if I don't get any of the other Spydies on my Yule list. I've been eyeing the Manix 2 G-10 for a while, but can see the Junior fitting the same basic role. Shame that it has to go to make room for other production models.

yea , I usually am late to a good party. I had always hoped that they would let a few out. I had a stainless for years. But I gave it to my Doctor out of appreciation for keeping me in pretty good shape :cool:
I Edc my para2 unless I am working. Then I carry a Thermite for work. If anything bad happens to that, who cares ������

Spyderco doesn't drop knives for no reason and, in almost every case, the reason is poor sales. Folks tend to shy away from unfamiliar locks and the "smurf blue" G-10 probably didn't help matters. However, there's always the outside chance that it's not really being dropped, but rather that the blue G-10 is being replaced by black, or some other color, just like the original Szabo is being replaced by a black bladed one with a different CF laminate scales. Not saying that will happen with the Sage 3, merely that it could.
 
I'm not surprised about the Sage 3. It's the only knife in the series that didn't captivate me. The only knives that I am somewhat disappointed to see go are the Junior and the Lum Chinese. They're both great knives, in spite of their shortcomings.

The Lum Chinese with carbon fiber is a nice knife. I'd recommend anyone on the fence pick one up.
