2014 ZT 300 series?

I've seen a few 2014 zt301's and there appears to be a screw near the top of the frame lock. Can anyone confirm if that is for a stainless steel insert?

Yep, the newest iteration has a stainless lock bar insert.

I've only seen the pictures on the big auction site and none of them are close up detail shots.

Hopefully they'll have stainless steel lock bar insert on the 0560 series as well. It was one of the things we asked for last Summer when the KAI forum was around: ZT feature wishlist.

Thanks! Finally good pictures of the updates. I feel like the 0560 models should get the new inserts. Idk why but the 560 models seem to wear quickly and develop later lockup compared to the 300's

I think it has more to do with folklore

I just received a 0301 and can confirm that there is a stainless steel lock face insert on the lock bar held in place by a torque screw. The hinderer lock stabilizer has also been removed. They added a detent to the steel face plate. I don't have any pictures to show but it's definitely there.

The 301 I got a couple weeks ago has the insert and no lbs.
