2015 Leatherman Heritage PST LE stock

I saw Leatherman had some Heritage PST LE stock direct from their website and ordered one. I received it today and noticed the birth stamp is 2017 when they first came out!
Does anyone have additional info on these and perhaps why after 5 years, they still have old stock on hand?

Why ?
I'd guess because of the price.

An original PST can be had all day long in decent condition for well under the $100 If you're looking for a user, and maybe there's not that many people who'd rather collect a repro PST instead of a mint original.
