Three new polls for the 2018 Buck 301 BF Knife are now open in Traditional. Poll #1 for number of blades (2 or 3); Poll #2 for blade steel; and Poll #3 for bolsters (nickel or brass). Can't wait to get this really unique knife. Don't forget to make your choices known.

Just to help out, here is the bolster poll:

Here is the steel poll:

(Not to flog my own preferences, but please keep the tradition of tang stamping in mind when voting on this one, we have two dots lefts in the series)

And here is the blade selection poll:

Got my votes in. Looking forward to adding a new Buck.

I entered my opinions over in the Traditional forum. My longest speel was in the blade voting area. FYI 300Bucks

I think you accidentally posted in the closed blade voting thread?

It appears that the poll on the number of blades ( https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...8-2-blades-or-3-blades.1582266/#post-18072604 ) has been closed and will be re-opened with some modification. Apparently there was enough confusion, if two blades were selected, as to whether one blade would be placed on each end or both blades on the same end. So be aware that you most likely will need to re-vote on that issue. Stay tuned.

the new poll on the number of blades is up and running.Feel free to get your votes in.

I went over to re-vote if necessary but on every one I can only change my vote. I guess they held.

Got my votes in - going to be a Buck Knife either way - very happy to see that happen. OH

I've voted and appreciate all that those involved have done. Especially Stephen at SK Blades.

I'm excited about this offering. I'm not much of a slipjoint user, but, will buy one or two of these. Looks like it will be a unique knife. Preston

Quite a discussion going on over in Traditional as to whether the offering should be the 3-blade traditional 301 Stockman, as we all know it, or a 2-blade with a clippoint and a sheepfoot on opposite ends. Valid points being made in regard to both choices. However, I have seen very few Buck forumites post their opinions in that thread, so what do you guys favor in this regard?

I've modded a few 301's and 303's to the 2 blade (clip & sheepsfoot) configuration. I like the thinner package.

I'm a huge fan of the 302, which is a single blade 301. If I can't have that, a 2-blade 301 with a clip point and a sheep foot (on opposite ends) is my next best option. A 3-blade 301 is fine, but I don't really need the additional blade, weight or width.

I'd like the Clip main blade combined with a Sheepfoot secondary blade, set up like a Muskrat - one blade on each end - for the sheer novelty of it. I have a fair number of Buck 301 variations going back to second variation Schrade made - I don't really need another 301 Stockman, but if that is the choice I will order one. OH
