Anyone have any pics to post yet of the new Ebonys??
I've checked my local stores, they still have the 2018s.

I guess I should have looked in those boxes at the store. They had a dymondwood on display and they just checked the dates on the outside of the boxes without looking inside.
Yours looks as good as a custom!

On the box of the New Ebony's, there is a label stating it's Ebony....

The ebony is nice looking and I have two guitars with ebony fret boards. I just haven’t warmed up to ebony by itself. I am more partial to contrast in wood grains. The Macasar ebony on the 112 and 110s I have bought have some brown and tan streaks which I like. I guess that’s why I don’t have any of the black phenolic handled knives. Plain black just doesn’t appeal to me. Now if it has some contrasting colors with it it does appeal to me.

Not all of the knives made with Macasar ebony had contrasting streaks. Many if not most were just plain black.

If you read and view the whole Ebony project linked here. You will see that there is marbled ebony in Cameroon also. I would think it safe to assume, that with one to two million knives a year slated for ebony handles, (That's the number the shot show video said.) some will end up with marbled ebony scales.

Deep black is the exception..and in most of the knife world the most desirable. When I go to the Blade Show this year I'm planning to find the deepest, blackest oversized African Ebony for a pair of 112 Customs with really thick handles. One with finger grooves and one without. I haven't quite decided yet on the final design but both will be Nickel silver frames with filework and possibly MOP or Ivory inlays.. Super Black Ebony on a NS frame looks especially good to me. I really like my BOTM 112 and the research on Ebony and the history of it's use in premium customs from the 1800's on helped me go that way for my next true Custom 112's..
