Nothing was mentioned in the catalog about what the Seki sprints will be next year. It seems like almost every year, especially recently, they have done a sprint of all the Seki models in a certain color.

So far, we have gotten an exotic carbon steel (SB), a HSS (HAP40), a super alloy (ZDP189- which later went production), and a basic carbon steel (VToku)...maybe a high end stainless is in order?

Do any of the Japanese steel makers have an analog of Cruwear? I imagine Hitachi must make something similar.

CTS XHP would be OK with me. Does it have to be a Japanese recipe. After all they make them (Seki city knives) in S30V?

The thing that concerns me is if they go too high end with the steel, perhaps pricing will go high end too.

From what I understand from the beginning of the new catalog. Spyderco will be trying to announce and release knives as they are ready.

People want instant gratification. So no more waiting half a year for a knife to be released. (Ahem Vtoku2 dragonfly)

I'm sure there will be some cool things in the future.

I would be good with another run of S30V in the Delica.

Still waiting for confirmation... But there was a quote from Sal saying that sprint runs were just going to be discontinued models from here on out... So we might not see another Delica sprint. Although, I'm really hoping I misinterpreted what he wrote. Here's what he said:

Sprints are still going, but they are a bit different in that they are all disco'd models.

I would really love to see a sprint run of the Navigator II myself.

Sal said that he mis-spoke. They will still be doing sprints of all the same regular models.

Super Gold delicas/enduras are still coming through massdrop at some point, no? Maybe an expansion of that run?

How about some more exclusives in super blue? Everyone is doing HAP40, I would love to see more super blue with some fancy scale options.

I think what Sal meant about sprint runs being discontinued models is that, a sprint run is a discontinued run since they only make them one time. Exclusives on the other hand can be produced again so they are technically not discontinued, unless the distributor doesn't want to commission another run.
