Edit: r8shell r8shell brings up a great point, so I’ll quote her here:
"When it is time to buy the 2021 Forum Knife, a new ordering thread will be pinned to the front page of the Traditionals Forum, so check the page daily"

Unverified statistic: 3 million people a day ask the same half dozen questions about the forum knife.
Unverified statistic: 3 million people haven't been reading the forums close enough to know how redundant their questions are.

So let's have a FAQ, shall we? I hope waynorth waynorth and meako meako will forgive me if I'm overstepping here.

What is the forum knife going to be?
A Great Eastern Cutlery #86 Barlow with a 1095 carbon steel clip point blade and "hemlock green" saw cut bone scales.

The original mock up (prior to selection of handle choices) is here:

Do I qualify to order a forum knife?
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...ead-post-1-read-the-last-post-please.1787281/

How much is the knife going to cost?
Unknown as of yet, but from Charlie himself:

When are we expecting to see the knife?
Possibly by October 1st.

and lastly... and this is the big one...
Did I miss my chance to order a 2021 Forum Knife?

... wait for it...
... NOPE.

Be on the look out for an ordering thread in the near future.

For the folks who are so worried about missing it, they don't have time to follow a link to find out what it is:

This, but in redish/greenish/brownish sawcut bone:

EngrSorenson EngrSorenson You are making a silly assumption they will find, open, and read this (or any) FAQ thead ...

Just look at how many who ask "How do I post pictures?" even though there is a stickie for that on page one of all the various sub-forums.

Good idea, but pointless. (I agree the locked 2021 Forum Knife threads should be archived, though.)

I will say I'm guilty of this, especially on threads with many many page and history.

Hopefully, a NEW FAQ thread like this one will 'reduce' the number questions that stem from people refusing to go through and read all those pages.

I find that recurve blades can slice and cut a bit better on the draw stroke, and are best sharpened using narrow stones on a sharpening fixture. I think it will be a nice feature on a workhorse of a knife with SS.

Bunch of pics of the blades and bolsters posted on GEC under What’s in Production. Bolsters look great! And I finally got my answer about the blade stamp!
Cool bolsters! I like it!
I was expecting them to be flat, though. Maybe I was thinking of it wrong?

It's really a very modest recurve, I find it very easy to sharpen.
