2023 Hunting Season

Alabama squirrel season has opened so I got out today and hunted. Saw nothing in the morning but got two this afternoon with the Weihrauch HW100S .22 pcp using 18 grain JSB pellets. Anyone got hunting pictures for this season please feel free to share.

Nice work on the squirrels with an air rifle. Always defaulted to .22LR myself back when I did hunt squirrels. I don't hunt much these days (get plenty of beef from family that raises cattle, so no need for wild game) but enjoy seeing other people have successful hunts.

Awesome looking gun! Gotta wait another couple weeks for squirrel out my way. Mainly using my R/A 22 mag rimfire for varmints although a bit much for tree rats but great for woods varmint hunting.

We don't have set hunting seasons here in Australia.
Pigeons in sheds are a year round problem. A tasty problem, but a problem none the less.

Drove all the way to a WMA to go squirrel hunting but didn't find any; got back home to my own property and spotted a rabbit so it wasn't a totally shot day. An easy shot for the HW100S.

Got another squirrel this morning. Saw a couple more but no shots, they kept moving through the treetops at too far a distance through the leaves.

Got out this afternoon with the HW100S; the wind was blowing some making it hard to see movement in the trees and there was a lot of little birds hopping around harvesting acorns too but I managed to get three. Not great pictures as it was dark thirty.

Breezy saturday morning - not much moving at all. Saw one squirrel - no deer. called it quits in time to catch the noon kickoff

Whitetail down, field dressed and packed out. Whew - major winter storm hitting western Montana tomorrow night, and I wanted to have this one in the bag before then. Time for a beer....
