I'll probably be in for this one, as I've got several others in their yearly Damasteel subline. Gotta love that they do things like this. A neat toy for collectors, the regular model of similar high quality at an inexpensive price for those who don't see the value proposition in this one.

Looks nice, the handles have some contouring, definitely easy to get dirty for those that intend to use it.
Pearly white covers

The price is as expected, the past few years.

Looks fantastic. The prices are crazy though and not sure if I'd care about the saw in such gents knife style.

Beautiful piece. I really like the white micarta handles. Do I really need another knife I won’t actually carry though? (That’s me trying to talk myself out of it). All things considered the way prices are going on everything it’s not too bad for what you are getting.

I'll pass on this one. It's just not classic SAK or attractive.

It is based on the Wenger Ranger 55, of 2007, which is based on the Wenger 120mm models from 1990. So there is a history of over 30 years in the range. Not as old as the more common Victorinox/Wenger models but not than new either.

The Ranger range became part of the Delemont range.

There was also the Rangerwood 68 model in wood, for something similar.

The price on such a thing would probably be quite prohibitive, and would also be a lot more difficult to tool, I think. That said, I agree, that would be pretty spectacular.
I don´t have the slightest clue on prices 🤪 but it would be really cool 😎
I found a piece of damast steel at my local knife supply store, size 300x50x4,0 mm for about $60. That´s retail to customer, how much of that is actually manufacturing I don´t know, but probably les than 1/3.
Since the tools are only 2mm thick, in theory, one could get all the tools needed for a Spartan out of that piece.
Sure, Victorinox would charge us double the $379 they charge us for this one, but one can dream :)
