Every month we have BOTM guesses, and there's a recent thread about your all-time favorite Buck. But what about the favorite Buck that you got this year? A Buck of the Year? (note, that's BOTY, not BOOTY!)
Do you have a new Buck that you find yourself reaching for more than others? Any surprise charmers?
I've been thinking about this all year, and when Buck dropped a couple new versions of the 104, I knew what it would be.
I tend to use it quite a bit in the kitchen. Just look how it handles butter! Man, that thing goes through butter like a knife through... well, you know what I mean. It's got great balance, the micarta feels fantastic in hand, and it's the perfect size for a lot of kitchen tasks.
Usually, my knife budget goes to folders, and I don't really obsess about fixed blades. There are other fixies that I use regularly, but a 300 series is usually in my pocket. The 104, however... almost every day since I got it.

This 104 in 3V arrived just before summer camp with our Boy Scout troop, and it's a great all-around camp knife. Fire prep, snack prep, woodcarving, what else is there to do at camp? With a knife, I mean. I didn't take it swimming. The 104 is a kitchen workhorse in our home. It we ever did a "Buck of the Year" thread similar to what they have in the Traditionals forum, I'd probably be really tempted to cheat. The 104 isn't a new knife this year, but it gets used more than any of my other knives.
