2025 Bayou Trapper thread

I like Sowbellies!! I'm looking forward to the pictures!!! Here's one to look at, to tide us over!!
A "Moose" configuration, made at Queen in 1989 (probably by Bill Howard!), for Primble!!!
I like how the 'belly cradles the blades, keeping the points buried, and the joints "sunk!!Primble by Queen 1.jpgPrimble by Queen 2.jpg

The jigging,,, The deep, evenly saturated dye job of the scales... Man oh man. Can it get any better? I doubt it.

I love this one, Charlie. I love those Queen-made, “Black Box”, alternative branded knives.

Nice sowbelly, Charlie. I was able to grab a blue richlite 88 earlier. I feel like the 88 is an underrated pattern. The clip and lambsfoot combo is perfect.

I'm "meh" on the pattern. The PPP was whimsical, with its fun Yeti etching and the swampy 'gator shield. But to me they're awkward in the hand when using the clip point main.

If the action isn’t like the first run they wont be the same. Some of the best action of any gec pattern.
You can rest assured the action is the same. Mine just arrived and it is typical GEC quality. Fit and finish is excellent and the pulls are imho perfect and the blades are almost gator snappy. I had the chance to pick any of ones from this run but could afford only one so I chose the Blue Richlite. I love the Orleans shield almost as much as the one on my Ace of Spades from the original run. Needless to say it’s a keeper! 😀

Since richlite is essentially paper micarta under a different name, can you see the layers? How is it tactile wise?

The richlite website only says that they use a thermosetting resin. Phenolic is a likely candidate. Does anyone know for sure what resin is used?

I don’t see any layers but that may be due to the dark navy blue handles. To me the texture is like smooth bone or acrylic.
