204 Diamond Rod Question

Does anyone know if the diamond rods can be used on their flats and corners? I'm wondering if the diamonds would get "worn off" of the corners and that perhaps they were meant to be used on the flats only?

It would be great if the corners could be used because I have two hawk blade style blades that need to be profiled but don't want to take the chance of ruining new $60.00 diamond rods.

I have "sleeves" instead of diamond rods.

My sleeves fit over the gray or white stones. I find myself using both the flats and edges, while they appear to be designed for use on the flats. It does seem that the abrasive will be worn off of the edges long before the flats.
