How many of you think the ultrafine rods for the 204 Sharpmaker should be a permanent option? They're now an experimental run.

I have a pair and I think they are an excellent addition to the 204. It allows you to get an unbelievably sharp edge. I have a pair of the diamonds as well, so I am ready for most any sharpening job. Great work as usual Sal and Co.

I was literally thinkin' today in the car "wouldn't it be nice to have some extra-fine rods for the 204?" yknow for screwy guys like me who actually dry-shave with their EDC :)

I've been using mine quite a bit. I think they're excellent and a good addition for any 204 user.

Seems like most of the guys I've talked to absolutely love 'em! In honesty.., I don't know if it's that important to me to get an edge that close to "push-cutting" sharpness.., but it's always fun to just take your favorite couple of knives and get 'em as sharp as they can be. :)

I think it would be a great addition IF both the ultrafine rods and the diamond rods came in something a little more permanent-looking than those plastic tubes. Maybe Spyderco could offer a leather sheath like the one that comes with the ProFile stones. Or a small tray that would fit under the Sharpmaker and hold the four extra stones when it was all packed up.

I'm with Liko, something to hold both the UF and the Diamond stones would be great.

I agree with clint97! The UF rods are great to have. It would be perfect to have a way of carrying the two "extra" pairs of rods.

Can you design a plastic carrier that snaps onto the bottom of the Sharpmaker base? :D
