That unique patern is call Step Stone.
That "Step Stone" pattern is milled into the stainless bolster and is found on all three of the Buck Koji knives—204 folder, 205 dagger, and 208 fixed. It may represent a stone, but I sometimes think of the pattern as contour lines on a small scale, maybe a pattern formed on sand by wave action. Whatever it is, I like it.
