It has just now ( a couple of minutes ago) just come to my attention that
HIMALAYAN IMPORTS had passed it's 20th year in business this past fall!

To think that this fine company and humanitarian effort began with a simple idea, born in the minds of fine people with a few outstanding ideals in mind.
First and foremost: To supply work and healthcare to some of this planets poorest of the poor an "untouchable" class in their own country, to give them a better standing in life and some dignity with it.
Secondly:To bring to the world some of the finest khukuri ever to come out of Nepal, from a business with outstanding morals and discipline and the best customer service to boot!

And to think that it all came to Fruition from an idea, ideals from simple men and an ad run in Knives Illustrated which sold two khukuris in the fall of 1988.

Well guy's, i think we all here owe some wonderful people a belated WELL DONE! and some Kudo's all around to all who've made a difference in our lives and our collections.;)

Happy Anniversary , Himalayan Imports!! Here's wishing You, Bir Ghorka, The Owners and Staff, the Kami's and all who've played a part in the beloved Company and Forum we've come to know, love and respect. Special thanks should go to Pala, Uncle Bill and Yangdu!

It's seems to me it's been a long hard road (at least from what i've read :D)

HERES TO WISHING YOU ANOTHER 100 Great Years!!!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I don't have a glass to raise, but I was just whittling the handle on my M43 to fit me better. So I'll raise a khuk to that. Superlative product from superlative people.

Well, congratulations to the company and its founders.:D

And congratulations, as well, to you regulars on this forum ... surely you had more than a little to do with keeping your Uncle's legacy alive.

Here's to the next 20.

Congratulations to Yangdu, the Kamis and everyone who've worked to make these fine blades for so long. I received my first two khukuris here the other day, and each of the blades felt like a distinct piece of history. Review will follow, and I'll have my grandchildren post one too, in fifty-sixty years or so. These khukuris will outlast us all.

We couldn't have done it without you, HI and Kmais would like to thank you all for your continue supports and help
