Hi,

Did the #21 & #22 Pony Jacks always have the 3 grooved bolster on the pivot end?

I was shown an auction (it's long over now), that had a photo of a #21 with a smooth plain pivot bolster. I have never seen one like that. It didn't seem right to me.

I have a good half dozen of these models from the 60's and '70s era. And they all have the grooved bolsters. But that leaves a lot of years unseen by me.:D

Thank You!

Hi dalee

I took a liking to these 2 models in the past year and have accumulated a few also. Actually carry one all the time, lately.

Most are the older 60's-70's (my call based on a chart of tang stamps I saw here on the forum) with the 1/2 stops and and ringed bolster. Nice little buggers.

I've also got another one - 2-3/4" stamped mark side Keen Kutter and pile side 778 - carbon copy of the model 21 - brown jigged delrin scales - With a smooth bolster.
I've got a feeling it's Camillus made. Clip blade profile and swedge more closely matches Model 21 than Schrade 272.

I think I've also seen a couple auctions for Model 21's with a plain bolster but passed on them due to blade condition.
