21" Dui Chura Came In - Need help identifying the kami - 5 pointed star

Hello folks,

A gorgeous unused 21" Dui Chura came in with all of its bone handled tools. The guesstimate is that it was bought from HI around 2011 or 2012. The kami sign is an open 5 pointed star and I am wondering who it is. It is not the six sided star made by two triangles.

Will post pics later but am wondering if any of the old timers can help me ID the kami.

Best wishes to all,

George

So there it is :-) Any thoughts on the kami?

How sweet is that! Gorgeous. I too can't help on the kami, don't recall ever seeing that mark before.

Karda or Auntie will come through for us I'm sure. Curious myself.

I emailed Auntie and she confirms your suggestion.

Dear Joe,

This is Hari Bhadur Kami's mark.
He made knife for HI few years back. He went back to his home and never return again.
Hope this helps

Thats is some beautiful craftsmanship! The tools are very nicely made as well. Are the extras intended for a specific purpose like leather work or just general tools? Other than normal K&C there is a scraper and the rest look like punches or awls.

Wait, maybe that was Pugs. Just recently got the dressed up version.?? Can't remember if it's still called a Dui Chura?
I guess I better keep studying and logging in data. Just when I think I'm finally getting stuff figured out I realize I'm just as dumb as I was yesterday.

Wow, there's an opening for Bookie I'm sure he won't ignore.

Those tools are awesome. The saw is a work of art and the punches incredible. Not sure what the "kit" would be for some nice diverse tools between them.
