Here's a few pics of my big Ang Kola. Right around the 3 pound mark and 21 inches over all. I've had this steel for about 4 years now and have taken down many, many trees in the time I've had it. I have also disassembled a washer, dryer, microwave and refrigerator with it........and when I say disassembled........I don't mean I used it to unscrew the screws to take it apart.

The day I received it, I already had ideas about reshaping the handle. Using nothing but sand paper and an awl.......I took a month and carved out the pattern I was thinking. It feels great in the hand and has no hot spots despite the depth of the rectangles.

Been mean to post pics for awhile now, but I'm finally getting around to it.

Btw.....I'm using photobucket and the images load upside down.....sorry.

Dang I can see where that would take some time and effort. Adds some real texture.

Wow, nice handle. The blade looks amazing considering its a user. What do you do to keep it so nice?

I've sanded it down a few times with 1500 grit. It's never been a mirror polish, but it looks pretty nice. I have certainly never held back on it in use though. It's been through quite abit.

Btw.......I own a TON of blades. One of the reasons this is one of my favorites, besides the custom work from the smith who made it and my own "sweat equity".......is it's ability to acquire a razor sharp edge with very little effort. Love that 5160 and their old school heat treat!

I can take this beast out in the woods (or into house hold appliances that have an attitude problem) and chop to my hearts content, and a few passes with my sand paper wrapped broomstick, it's hair popping sharp again.

Dude! Digital leopard! Thats way cool! I have a 20" by Lachhu and it is one bad to the bone blade so I know what you mean by tough. Mines neem wood but i couldnt make myself carve it cause id most likely mess it up ghud:D Very nice job!

Thank you as well! I took these pics tonight as the sun was setting, thinking they would turn out better. They do not look as well as the handle looks in person......please.....not to toot my own horn, as I have no real skills, but I'm happy the way it turned out due only to the "ancient" look of the handmade handle and how it compliments the shape of the Kukri blade that has eon's of proof of its efficiency.
