I'm strongly considering making my next purchase a sebenza, but I can't decide between the 21 and 25. What do y'all think?

You really have to hold both to make a decision otherwise buy both, and sell least favorite as LNIB. You'll lose maybe 10 bucks?

IMO..25 all the way. Mr Reeve hit the bullseye with this one.

Had a 25, much prefer my 21. To me a 21/Classic/Regular is more "sebenza" than the 25, which is more "zaan". The finger grooves didn't work for me, and I love the pivot bushing on pre-25 Sebbie's - snug it tight and go, and only one wrench needed.

I have both, I like the 21 better. It feels better in the hand than the 25 and I prefer the blade shape of the 21. I will say though, my 25 has a smoother action than my 21. Either way, you wont be disappointed and you'll probably end up getting both anyway.

I prefer the 25 by a slight margin. If it's your first Sebenza, then go for the 21.

That's a tough one. If it will be a "user," the 25 is beefier. Not that the 21 is a slouch at all, but the 25 is one awesome knife. Two thick slabs of titanium and a killer blade, simple and very useful. Corrosion-resistant as they all are.

I use my 25, and pretty much just admire my large 21 lefty micarta and 21 Insingo micartas. They are like functioning works of art.

I used to baby the 25, too, until I decided to just use it. And I'm glad I did. If I need it to look brand-new again, a trip to CRK for their "spa" treatment will do that, which cannot be done with their micarta-inlaid models like my 21s are.

From my understanding, they do not re-bead-blast their inlaid models as part of their spa treatment, if that matters.

You should like whichever one you choose, they are great.

Or do like I did, I bought the 25, then the other two within two more weeks. :greedy_dollars:

I may be incorrect (feel free to set me straight), as I'm a new CRK owner but its my understanding that no knives/parts are blasted as part of the "spa treatment", its a simple cleaning/lube/sharpening, to have a handle re-blasted is a separate service and costs money. Now perhaps its true the service isn't available to inlaid models (I have a non-inlay'd version) but again from my understanding it's not offered, even to the models which can be re-blasted, as part of a [free] spa/warranty service.

Unfortunately I don't have the cash to both both right now :(
I find myself leaning towards the 25

I vote 25. I prefer the more "robust" design of the 25. Plus I like the near FFG as opposed to the hollow grind of the 21. If you go 21 my pick is the Large Insingo. Either way they are both great CRKs!

The 25 is my favorite CRK :) I think you're leaning in the right direction. You will be thoroughly impressed! And you will find when using it that it performs tasks very well.

I really think that you would enjoy either one. I have a 25 and a small 21 inlay. The 25 is my favorite but I've only had the 21 for a few days. My 25 is a robust knife and feels the part. The small 21 feels much smaller than the 25 but that is due to the size and the fact that the 25 has a thicker blade stock. So...I'd pick the 25 but that's just because in have one and love it. I'm sure the 21 would be just as nice. The best thing about the 25 is the ceramic ball as the lockup. It makes for a super sturdy lockup. Don't know if I helped but good luck with your choice.

25 was my first and I really like my others but if I had to do it again I would still pick the 25. Now between the 25 and an Umnumzaan I would pick the Zaan. But your question was between a 21 and 25, in that case I prefer the 25.

Where to buy? If funds are tight pick up a like new one here on the exchange. If you want new buy from an authorized dealer. CRK website lists their authorized dealers.

You really can't go wrong with the model you choose.
