Sitting at the computer this morning and I heard a "Gobble, gobble, gobble" out my window.
Grab the ol' Model 12, slate call and hit the back door runnin'!
This ol' bird took me on a chase down the river and through the woods, but we didn't make it to Grand Mother's house!
Better run to the store and get some mushroom soup.......

Nothing better!!! Nice bird

If I lived closer I'd be breaking in for a Turkey sandwich with lettuce/Mayo, salt and pepper.
Darn, I am drooling now.....................................

When I first saw the thread title I thought, "Wow! I didn't even know Karl was pregnant." The I realized 21 pounds 4 oz would be a huge baby... :D :p :o

Interestingly, I almost hit a turkey on the road today. Probably the third time I've seen wild turkeys around here. If I'd known they were in season we might not have swerved to avoid it. :D It was crossing a divided highway when we were going south. When we came back north an hour and a half later, it was preening itself in the middle of the median. Didn't seem afraid of the traffic at all.

Karl, nice bird. Ever try to smoke one? I know better than to deep fry one. I learned that lesson the hard way:grumpy:
Philip, they took a beating on I-71 north of Louisville today I counted 6 DOA on the way back home today.

That's pretty big. Just be sure it isn't a turkey vulture before you eat it... :D

Oh, I might as well admit it.

My first thought was you made a 'musketoon' with a fixed bayonet or something on the end. Or a Pez shotgun with the flip out blade.

Nice bird Karl! There are more than a half dozen hens that congregate around some of the corn fields near me a lot of mornings...Always makes me want a turkey sandwich for lunch!

Hey You Ole Bird!!!! How old are you going to be tomorrow???? You don't look your age at 75. HEHEHEHEHEHE!!!

Call me when you put that on the grill. I'll be right over and will bring the beer to boot.

Nice bird Karl.

Fred
