Hey all,

I've been messin' around with my Henry Repeating Arms .22 lever action carbine and have shot a few .22LR subsonic rounds in the backyard plinking and taking out a squirrel. I live in a fairly well populated area and like the idea of the subsonics or the .22 short CB caps. Locally, I can find them for about $11.00 for a box of 100 plus tax. I looked around online and found some better deals, but the shipping was always at least $15.00 which pretty much cancelled out the good deal on the internet.

Does anybody have any good online sources for this ammo that will give me a decent price without killing me on the shipping?

Thanks,
Jon

Thanks a bunch rat. I've seen the Aguila sniper subsonics, and might try some of those. They are Ok for rifles as long as the rifling in the barrel meets certain criteria. The link you gave me has the best price so far, so thanks for that:thumbup:

The other link for the CB caps is just for pistols, you are absolutely right. But my carbine is tube fed and will cycle .22 shorts, and there are some manufacturers, such as CCI who produce a .22 short CB Cap that fires at a muzzle velocity of about 710-720 FPS, and that's the CB round I'm looking for. I've found some already, I was just wondering if there were any good deals out there.

Thanks again,
Jon

Ah, yeah didn't think of shorts. I did shoot some of those powderless rounds through my rifle, but they had trouble feeding.

The sniper subsonics cycle my 10/22 with no problem.

They are super weak, sound like a cap gun, and are not really supposed to be used in rifles.
I have shot .22 Short CB caps out of carbine length .22 barrels before and the bullet had enough ooomph to clear the bore. However, I will say that when you shoot shorts out of an LR chamber the accuracy generally degrades.

LOL, yeah, I noticed this with the subsonics. The gun is sighted in pretty well, but these guys were all over the map at 20 yards. Still pretty fun to play around with:D

I've tried Remington's subsonic (in the green box).

Out of a carbine length 10/22 barrel, it's damn near as loud as regular ammo.

An air rifle might also be a good solution.
