I have 2 of these 225OT knives, both N.I.B., but different
I am hoping by starting this thread, others will post their examples so we can see how many variations were made.
The first one i bought at least 6 months ago. The seller said he had bought it in the gift shop in either a National or State park somewhere in N.Y. state.
Black/Blue box:

The second one i bought quite recently from a different seller:

It seems odd that the atypical box has the knife with the standard Old Timer handles and shield, and that the usual box has the knife with the atypical handles (Walnut ?) and no Old Timer shield.
I took pics of the first one long before the second arrived so i know i have not mixed them up.
Any ideas on this ?
And, let's see other examples as this may help in fully understanding this pattern.
much thanks, roland

I suspect that the one with wooden handles is a leftover at the factory from when they made them for Canadian Ducks Unlimited (those would have etch and shield of course).

Roland, here is another one. The one on the top is STAINLESS 226OT, made for the European market. If you look carefully, you will notice that the blades lay in the frame just the opposite of the more familiar 225OT. I have the black box for the European version, but I don't feel like digging it out. It's just a box. :)

I wonder why the blades are 'reversed' in the European version.
Is your black box the same as in my picture (black with wide blue stripe) ?

Turns out I don't have box after all, but Codger says they have "special black boxes." Looking again, I discover that I also have the one blade analog, the 126OT, with stainless blade, destined for Europe, and it has the same kind of box as yours, Roland. I do have that box, with all the paperwork, and I believe I posted that a year ago or so, although the photobucket image may be gone now.

Actually, Dave, the sawblades are identical; it is an illusion created by camera angle. BTW, the sawblade on the stainless version is not stainless, but the clip blade IS stainless.

The Canadian DU Son of a Gun, Cal mentioned....

Perhaps I'm missing something but I can't find "USA" anywhere on the box nor knife. Do either have USA on them?

Thanks to Calvin and good ol' Larry i think i now know what i've got.
First pic: European box with non-European 225OT. Interesting in that this was bought in USA. a gift store in a State (Or National ?) Park in USA. Maybe distribution agreements prevented it from having the regular box at this unofficial Schrade store ?
Second pic: regular box with an unfinished DU version of the 225OT.
This is what i was hoping to find out. thanks !
