Hi all, I want to say, that today was my first time really splitting wood! I was at my bros house and the fire in his house was not catching because the wood was to big. For this reason, i whooped out a winchester cheapy 5' blade from my girlfriends car which i gave her. And started choppping and splitting! What a experience, this knife was surprisingly used by bear grylls (apologize if spelled wrong), and it started to split wood, but i learned quickly, smaller blades have limitations and vice versa but it worked! So at the age of 22 yr old it was my first time splitting wood! :p

Maybe it's because I was over in W&C just now, but your title isn't exactly worded the best...

Anyway, congrats.

KOOL.

Just don't do like Grylled Bareass and try chopping wood whilst jumping out of a plane without a parachute . OK ?:D

I thought I was going to break the knife, and I was surprised that it did not put too much wear on the blade, wood is not harder than the metal.

winchester cheapy 5' blade

5' That's pretty big.

I didn't know that Winchester made swords :D The fact that your GF keeps one in her car makes for even more questions.

But congrats on thinking on your feet and using the tools at hand.

Now go pick up a fiskar's hatchet and use that next time. Better yet, pick up two and give your brother one.

I prefer batoning with big choppers over axe use. Although, 22.. first time.. not the best title. :o

now itz time to get a busse............
