Tom it will not be the same without you, hope your drilling some nice holes, that way we will get our TNT's faster. :D

Thanks Randy, i'll be there early the first day, hope to have some fun and what the heck pick up a knife or two. hehe

Cheers!

Yep, Don won it. But let me tell you. I did not mind losing to that knife at all. It was a beauty!

Anyhow, I ended up winning the Best Innovation Award. Its a super cool solid glass bowling ball with really bizarre bubbles inside. The thing wieghts about 15 pounds and sits on a solid metal display stand. It is the coolest looking award I have seen in a long time.

Congratulations Ron! Good to see you there... Tom M. I was hoping to run into you again (we met last year), Luckily Bob Lum was there again and I ended up with one of his. Very sweet! A great show though. Looking forward to next year already, though still recovering from folder sticker shock as compared to the fixed blades I usually buy!

Congrats! What was the Best Innovation Award given for? Liquid metal?

A big thanks to the BAKCA members for putting on a 1st class venue!

Ron, congrats on the award buddy; it was good to see you and your lovely wife again too.

Matthew Rapaport, it was nice to finely meet you, my pleasure!

What a great show, with lots of BFC forumites there too!

See you guys there next year!

Shel

Don is a fine maker and won an award or two each year I attended BAKCA. I hope my earlier post was not taken the wrong way.

Jeff, absolutly no offense taken. Don is one heck of a maker and deserves every award he gets. But I'll get him next year!:D

What I really like about BACKA is the judging of the awards. Too often you see Utility awards going to knives with MOP scales and tons of filework and engraving. The BAKCA judges really try to keep knives in their proper catagories.

RW,
The utility is one tough catagory to judge. One mans utility is another mans gents knife.
We go by what is entered by the maker. His choice.Again the utility catagory is tough.
Randy

Well, Randy I still say your judges did a good job. Dons knife was IMHO a Utility. A nicely dressed utility but a utility none the less. Keep up the good work.
