Managed to strip the hex head on one of the screws on my 25. Any tips on undoing it and does he send replacements. I'm in the UK so don't really want to send it back

I've got it out now. But the screw head is knackered. I'll send them an email to send a new one out. Need some more grease too.

I realise you're fixed now but you can use a torx bit in future, it grips the mashed up edges of the screw head far better that trying to use another allen wrench. You want a T-8 bit and just give it a wee bash to seat it into the screw head. :)

Once in a while the screws (not the pivot) on my 25 loosen up. I have always caught the issue before a screw is lost. I am however thinking about adding a drop of the weakest Locktite next time I do a takedown. I only use Locktite on the pivot currently. This has never happened to me on my 21.

Glad to here CRK sends out screws if you need a replacement.

Hotmail said that email address may not be valid when I tried it. But I think it has sent. Yes I used a torx bit in the end. Did the trick.

I do them up pretty tight so I don't have to loctite them. A little to tight it seems. Will have to stop taking it apart so often in future and loctite all the screws.

Love the 25 shape and heft etc, but the stop pin does my head in, Especialy when it moves on tightening it you forget it has to be in a certain position and have to take it all apart again..

Hmm for some reason my email didn't send to that email address? Says it's invalid, rejected by the server etc

I'm not trying to get wide here, but you did type the address in correctly ? I'm bad for putting extra full stops at the end and using commas etc. :foot:

If you still have no joy drop me a line and I can contact a friend that works there for you. :)

I copied and pasted it off the Chris reeve website. Which seemed to be the issue. I've typed it in and it's sent now. Not sure what the issue there was. Cheers for the offer though.

Haze is a good man for the offer- Just goes to show you the quality of this particular subforum and it's regulars!

Sorry, I missed your follow up post here. :foot: Send me an email with your name etc. That way we don't get all mixed up with different people asking about the same thing. :)

I have disassembled a few old hard drives and saved the screws. Quite a few are the same size as clip screws. 2-56 IIRK. Anyhow, they come in handy keeping a knife in action while waiting for replacements.
