As most know, I won the 'Ram Raffle' for the 25" sirupati that Ferguson so generously donated. I've included the link, if you don't remember what it looks like.
It arrived yesterday, and it's awesome! It came beautifully polished (not a smudge on it), well packaged, and MASSIVE. It's only 37 oz (slightly under 2 1/3 pounds), but when it gets moving, it does not want to stop. Very sharp, too. I can't identify who made it, as it seems to be without kami marks. There is a cross/sword etched on the left surface (not the one shown in the pictures), but that looks like 'after market'. Also, there is a small circle engraved on the right surface, just at the end of the Sword of Shiva (I think that's the proper term), which is visible in the pic).
All the handles have been refinished, I think with Tru-Oil. The pictures don't do them justice: they positively glow. Not slippery, either.
Steve offered a choice of scabbards, and I chose the custom Sisco. Now THAT is one fine piece of work. It's a dream being able to draw and resheath the knife without having to worry about the bend of the blade. I will definitely be ordering one of those from the Sarki Shop for my UBE. The separate sheath for the the karda/chakma is neat, too.
