IMG_9973.JPG Had to brag about my new 25" Sirupati by Anil.
What can I say except stare at it, mouth opened like I'm totally speechless! Then smile with a big WOW!!!!
This might be old to some of you but you understand where I'm coming from!
Now, how do sharpen this bad boy? Contact the company that makes sandpaper and ask them to cut their pieces 24" long??

I'm partial to the 25'' Siru. I know Ndog has a love for it as well.

Five minutes after meeting Yangdu for the first time I asked if she had one around I could feel. I wanted one but wondered if it would be too unwieldy. She said she did, grabbed my wife's hand, took her through the house giving her gifts all the way, out back to the shed and returned with one.

It was love at first sight and she inquired if it was on my list, I assured her it was before but was really on the list now. She told me then you just keep that. Wow!

My wife took pictures of the shed and said we had to find a way to get me back there. Had to work over some roots and rocks and I couldn't even get up over the curb. Used the van lift to get over the curb and we managed to get within about 10 feet. Then the show and tell began.

I'll never forget that day as long as I'm drawing air into my lungs. Amazing day.

Siru of course has a place of honor among many to this day as well.

Wow! What an amazing story! She's given me treasured items as well. One amazing gift was a Gopte I asked her about. She said all she has left was 2. She said "I keep one for my collection and you keep one for yours"!
Kami is Dhan.
She's a real gem!

Oh if you like the 25" Siru you'll really like mine:D No its not a villager....er..maybe it is now but she's had plenty of use. Ive put many dings, rolls etc but she always comes back to work! I do have to admit that most of the use (abuse) i give her the chakma cant really repair. I do use it to touch up as I'm using it when i'm cutting brush, vines and small green stuff but when I hit a rock or something I use a copper anvil and another piece of copper to straighten the edge. If its too bad I sometimes have to peen it with soft steel on a real anvil. This is my most used bushwhacker bar none! I don't even bother cleaning the sap off anymore since I use it almost daily. Thats not rust but dried up sap. I finally had to give it a full sharpening about a week ago and IT WILL KEEL now!

Here she is in the doghouse when I bought her.

Dang she's a beautiful thang.
It was the first blade I ordered off the webstore and Aunti Yandu sure did me well. It was a tossup between a 30" and a 25" and I think I made the right decision. I do want a 30" tho.

I want a 30 too! Bigger is better.
A 30" has been in my radar as well!!

Yangdu offered me that raffle ceremonial kuk that's being auctioned,......sometimes wish I'd bought it......but I just bought about 2K worth of kuks. So my fingers are crossed for the drawing.
Then, again, Auntie has been so good to me. Whether I win or lose, I'm okay!

I'm glad to come back to the forums and see such a beautiful blade! Thanks for sharing, George.

I especially love to see an old, well-loved workhorse. Thanks for sharing that, ndog! Love it.

I just got in 2, 25" knives by Kumar. One is a Sirupati and the other is a Kobra.
How can I tell which is which?
Thank you

Nice. Speaking of 25 inchers, this is my recently made Kobra, made by Kumar. I'm not sure what the handle is made of (bamboo root maybe?).

That is really nice. It looks like bamboo. A piece to be proud of for sure! I just recently added a 30" Sirupati to my collection. I need to take some photos for sure.
Keep posting photos if you buy new pieces. Thanks man
