25 Startac.....how long has it been out ??

I was looking at the trading forum today. How long has the 25 Startac been available............http://shopwilsoncombat.com/Star-Be...is-Reeve-Knives/productinfo/WTK-STAR-BENZA25/

Does anyone have 1 yet ?

I think you mean the Star-Benza 25, the Startac is an Umnumzaan.

I think the 25 came out about February 12th, or close to that so not long. Mine was delayed due to "inclement weather" in the Berryville area last week and again this week in Little Rock, so UPS just sat on it for several days now... ugh.

The 25 Starbenza just came out, the WC 25 that looks like the plain 25 with the WC logo on it has been out for a while.

I'm liking this one a whole bunch. Its almost like Wilson Combat cherry picks these because everything is perfect- blade centering, lockup, and of course zero imperfections. It was definitely worth the wait after UPS held things up due to weather issues. These are some quick iPhone shots-- I plan to get some decent photos made this weekend.

Note how the center of the starburst on the new 25 is near center on the scale whereas it's set to the back on the 21.

So is there any difference between Star-Tac and Umnumzaan other than the scale machining? And likewise between the Star-Benza 25 and the Seb 25?

No difference other than the slabs which can only be had from Wilson.

I want to get a large starbenza someday. The sebenza 25 version looks to have the same sharp edges the umnumzaan version has. I sold the zaan a long time ago due to this. The starbenza though has wider spaces in the grooves making it more comfortable when gripping tightly.

There are some other differences such as all silver posts/pillars and thumb studs and the Wilson Combat editions all have dual thumb studs and the titanium bead on the lanyard. Otherwise, the knives are identical in materials and dimensions. Wilson Combat lists them as limited editions, so they have an slightly higher price than their comparable models.

My Star-Benza 25 arrived a couple of days ago, and I am extremely pleased with it. I love the handle texturing, which is quite functional. I also appreciate the silver furniture, which for the Sebenza 25 it means the double thumb lugs, because if they're blue-anodized, there's an obligatory trip back to CRK to have them replaced which involves a nominal cost ($35 plus shipping both ways). (I also snagged one of the last numbered Carbon Fiber Sebenza 25s from Knife Art, which was sent back to CRK for the silver thumb lug change.)

What I would really love to see is a Wilson Combat + Knife Art collaboration: Carbon Fiber Star-Benza 25.
