CRK experts,

In considering a 25 vs a 21, i would like to know if either blade is any easier to sharpen on a spyderco sharpmaker. It seems that CR recommends that sharpener and it happens to be the one i have.

Thanks

Since both steels are the same, the sharpening should be just as easy for either one. The Sharpmaker is great for a cheaper option, I prefer something like the DMT Aligner or the Apex pro kit however, much easier to keep the angles consistent. S35VN is a pretty easy steel to work with, so either will do well for you. Judging by the number of 25's that keep popping up in the exchange for ~$400, I'd say people aren't liking them as much as they thought they would. I'd stick with the 21, but that is just a personal opinion.

I've reprofiled and sharpened both on a sharpmaker and they are about the same. I personally preferred the 25 just for the added ergos and sharper thumb ramp traction. Hope I helped :)
