25th anniversary 110s and 112

This was taken from the post of the owner.

"I have 2 Bucks, 110 & 112 Commemorative Knives, Nickel silver bolsters, both have ecthing on blade that says 25th anniversary, 1963-1988 but both were made in 1990. In new condition, no sheaths, have box for both, in good shape."

He wanted a Benchmade Griptilian for them both. I did not have that knife but emailed him and said I would buy the knife and have it shipped to him. Well the BM went out this morning, and I am sure he will send the Bucks today as well.

Since the search function is not working now, could someone give me some info on these two knives? What are the scale materials used on these? Did they come with sheaths? With me buying the BM and having it shipped to him, I have about $77.00 in it. I figured it was about $38.50 a knife, I guess I did OK, but I did jump on it and did not search around to see if I could have done better. What do you Buckaroos think?

Thanks,
John

nickel silver folders in 110 generly make 35 to 45 on ebay in used cond
in 112 size they make apx 35... used yes all come with sheaths...
new with box and sheaths could bring higher
late issues such as this of a date 2 years later are not as desired
ones with date marks of 87 are desired as they most likely were test run art proofs or salesman samples
they were both normanly issued with madagascar ebony and Nickel w/o fg
i know some 112's [[&maybe some 110's i ]] were issued in brass with finger groves!
and are not seen often at all so while not the desirable nickel they are scearce!
as to fg in nickel- only a Darn few in nickel ever have FG...
mostly thoes bought by employees
you see one of thoes ...
jest call me [;<) :D

Thanks Dave for the info. I was thinking the scales were darker, but I have not seen these in years. I got them mainly because they were NS. I don't care too much about the etching (in fact I thought about getting the blades swaped out for a reg. blade). I just don't like having a knife that I can not use and with the etchings I tend to put them on display like my North Carolina Buck 112.

Thanks,
John

Hi John and Happy New Year!! Yep, even with Dave's much more detailed reply, I would say that you did fine.

Glad you got them, I saw that sale thread and it took everything I had not to buy them, but I already have the 110 one.

Thanks guys for all the help. Well I got em in today. I have a few things to do, but I will get some pics of them up today. The 110 has some kind of pattern that is real nice, but it is only on one scale. Now I just wish they were not anniversary knives because I would really like to carry that 112. Now I just need to find a NS 112 I can carry.

Thank,
John

oh no not another 112 nut!
strange i got a notice were to look and seen a 112 ansv
in brass fg come up for sale ...
odd.... or is it ?!?!?

Dave I guess it is like the old saying "Ask and you shall receive". I think it would be great to have a NS 112 w/ FG. I have yet to see one. Maybe one day.

Thanks,
John

Dave, I guess I don't get the meaning of your statement. Or maybe I do. Do you think I listed the 112 fg because of the conversation on this forum? In the 9 years that I have been buying and selling knives, I have never really considered that to be a criteria to list knives. What about the other 10 that I have listed. How about the other 112? Have those models ever been discussed here?

I did receive several emails concerning the knife from people who post here, asking about the knife. If you personally want any information on the knife, please email me and I will be glad to answer.

I'm sorry to respond on this forum in this way, but I think your statement deserved a response.

Dave, I guess I don't get the meaning of your statement...

It's like trying to decipher the Dead Sea Scrolls...You'll only understand one word in three...Let him go on for a while; eventually we'll all get the general drift of what he's trying to say... :p

Dave, Would you happen to have a few pics of the FG NS 112? I would love to have it as my wallpaper until I can find one or I have enough money to buy one.

Thanks,
John
