Well here's one to ponder, saw cut delrin, Schrade/ N.Y U.S.A /34ot,but it has the OLD TIMER 25th anniversary etch.25th anniversary knives have smooth bone ,raised shields and the Schrade Walden tang stamp, and no it is not an end of days knife, owned it before Schrade closed.Anyone else seen one?, happy collecting.

G.M.
Is the kinife serialized? The 25th was to be 1-5000, and the bolsters are sterling silver. Is the blade stamped 34OT ss on the pile side?

G;Day Menace, It is the 25th Anniversary issued in 1984 to commemorate the issuance of the first Old Timer 2OT,3OT and 8OT series from 1959 and came with replica Old Timer box from that period. Classy little knife with Sterling Silver as Lrv says. I have photos of box/knife on page 9 of my corner on Larry Vickery's site.
Have I missed the main point of your question as these come up reasonably regularly on the Bay and fetch reasonable money as you would expect. Hoo Roo

Might some of these have been made in a plainer, non-limited Delrin version with only shield and etch, no sterling bolsters?

,Sorry, i guess i didn't make it clear. This knife is an absolute regular 34Ot,tang marked Schrade/N.Y U.S.A/ 34Ot. No silver bolsters,no fancy shield, no serial numbers, just the 25th anniversary etch.If you look at my collection on Larry's collectors of Schrade site, its img.2479 ,thanks.

This one. GM, The picture is a little fuzzy on the tang stamp. are there x's through it?
Thanks
Larry

Yup thats the knife, and NO there are no xx's tang stamp is perfect. Sorry about the pictures,a friend of mine is just learning.I've had the knife for sometime now, but untill i found you guys on bladeforum i had no access to anyone with any Schrade knowledge, you have been very helpful and i thank you. Hope you were able to use some of those adds i sent you, happy collecting.

I think Codger might be right, a lot of times they made a non-limited version of a limited edition knife, although in this case I don't recall ever seeing this particular delrin version. Maybe they just used up some extra blades?

Eric

You could be right, iguess what puzzles me is why the different tang stamp? if it was just an extra blade it would have had the Schrade Walden tang stamp. guess thats what i love about Schrades, does anyone ever really know?

The special customizations in those brochures GM sent to IRV could explain two 34OT knives I have. One is a Schrade Walden, the other a Schrade NY. Both were bought at separate times, nothing special was mentioned in the EBay listing. I bought both of these early on in my collecting days.

But upon arrival, the bottom of the springs were "engine turned", and the liners milled.

I have the diamond pattern of the NY on a couple other knives, but never seen another with this straight pattern on the Walden. If you look closely, the milling is different too. The brochure shows 5 different engine turned patterns, but the straight pattern is not one of them. I've never seen any other engine turned patterns on a knife.

I suppose this 858OT more of an SFO, since it has a serial number 060. It has the engine turned springs, millled liners, a braided border shield (maybe SS?), and the Georgianni farmers etch.

If anyone else has examples of specialties, please show em!

Nice examples,i also have that 858OT farmers knife,i bought what i thought was just a regular 858OT and got that,i wasn't dissapointed. I have a camp style Schrade Walden OT with no number, i've never seen another one of those. Its on the collectors site.

Same thing happened to me. I wasn't very experienced at all, was worried about paying what I did off of a bad picture, then about crapped my pants when I opened the package.
