Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I've posted a knife and this dagger is partially to blame. :P This project took a bunch of time I will admit but also I spent some time at engraving school (more on that with my next knife ;) ), other custom work and I've been practicing with the engraving a bunch here at home too.

This is the biggest dagger I've made to date with a 14" blade forged from 1080 and 15N20. This thing is massive at nearly 3/8" thick in the middle with a nice amount of taper. The handle is pre-ban ivory with twisted Argentium silver inlay. The fittings and blade are made of composite, mosaic damascus. There are two Argentium silver spacers with filework as well. The gold inlays are 18K yellow. The overall on this one is right around 20" long. There is 26" of sharpened dagger edge. :D The Argentium silver is similar to sterling silver only instead of 7.5% copper in it, the Argentium silver has 7.5% germanium in it. The germanium makes this silver almost completely care free because it gives the silver a high tarnish resistance.

I would like to thank the collector who commissioned this knife for giving me the opportunity to make this dagger. I am so grateful for all you guys out there who support me and enable me to do what I love. Make knives!

Thanks for the great photo works Caleb!

So without further interruption from myself, here is the dagger, enjoy!

That one is a masterwork, truly breathtaking.

I particularly like the handle and the details on the pommel.

Best Regards,

Gorgeous is all that comes to mind.
I will agree with STeven, the handle really draws in the eyes.

That's a Tour de Force of your superlative skills....fantastic! :)

Kyle: I've been wondering what you've been up to... Wow, absolutely beautiful design and craftmanship! It's also nice to see such a wonderful quillon dagger made for a customer rather than "just" for an MS application. I can hardly wait to see what you learned in engraving school. Bob L

Kyle,

Congratulations! That's a dagger for the ages, Damascus, handle and embellishments.

Beautiful...

Good grief man, you're on another level. And to think that while I'm only 40 I'm old enough to be your Father!!

WOW!

Wow! is right!! Just a superb piece in so many areas. Kyle, we have learned that when you have been quiet and out of the loop for some time, to watch out! Incredible piece. Congrats to you and the owner. Caleb has captured it so well.
