If you happen to run across one of these at a pawn shop, flea market, or some auction site... and the seller proudly and loudly proclaims it to be a 1977 issue Scrimshaw, don't buy it to complete your 1977 set. It is a 1978 issue, in spite of Mr. Giorgianni's signature with creation date of " '77". The art is the grizzly bear with a salmon. It was reused several times over the years on other patterns but only on the 1978 issue of the 261SC. The 261SC pattern number itself was only used for two years, 1977 and 1978. The 1977 issue, if that is what you seek, has the art of Eagle with Liberty Justice banner, Mayflower 1620 on the reverse.

Just thought you might want to know. Sig dates on the scrims are not always issue dates.
