279 Folding Alpha Hunter Custom - What is this handle material?

I picked up this knife from a person at BCCI but unfortunately he doesn't remember what the handle material is. I sent a query to the custom shop to see if they remember. Would anyone of you know what this is? It is a very slick material.

Info sought on Buck 279 white covers/scales

Bought this Buck 279 off eBay because of the white covers/scales. I can't find any info on them so I'm turning to the experts here. It has a 2003 date mark (T) and a sequential number on blade (155 / 200). I want to know what the covers/scales are made of as I want to remove the faux...

The custom shop replied a couple minutes after I posted this. Maybe I should let people guess what it is before I divulge.

BennyBlade - You are correct. It's white paper Micarta.

Edit: Also, nice that you dug up a BladeForums reference as well. It is the same knife and date but different design. I wonder if it is from the same custom shop?

I have not seen that logo for Buck's custom shop knives. I believe it to be another custom shop. JMHO.
