I just paid WELL over one hundred dollars for mine on sunday, what gives BUCK ???? this really pisses me off, I want a rebate or something, this is ROBBERY !!!

Take it easy killer!!! It looks like someone at Cheaper Than Dirt made a mistake. CTD will most likely "lose its shirt" in a deal like that.

Maybe I can get in on the CTD deal.

Maybe i was a bit rash....$28.75 cannot be true. with that said i have to say to Buck that by gosh i love this knife, love the way it looks and the way it feels in my hand. count me in as a new Strider customer for other models in the future...great job to all concerned. sorry for becoming a little unhinged.

Looks like they left the "1" off the front of that price...or they are Chinese copies made of pot metal. (Just look for the words "Surgical Stainless Steel")

Hey, if they are real, count me in for about 20.

I called to buy them all and sell em back to Buck!!!

It costs them over double that to make em.

rickmos,
Glad your happy with your knife.

The Buck model # shown is 281, which is the model # for the NXT series. The Strider model # is 880. That price would be right for the NXT, so I wouldn't be surprised if that is what they ship out for that price.
FYI,Ten

Having not received the one I ordered yet I can not really comment on whether or not it is/was a mistake or misrepresentation.
I do however, think that what you did was uncool. I mean if one gets a chance to get a great discount on a what I believe to be a great product, why ruin it for those who have a chance.

My apologies then.
I do hope that CTD does follow through on their half of the deal and sends what was ordered by all; the Buck Strider.
FWIW, I had my order in first thing on the 20th and as yet have no shipping info.
However, I do have a LNIB MT LCC MA(black plain blade) to offer up if anyone has a Strider they want to trade.

Again I apologize for misinterpreting what Mick Strider posted and will completely chew my shoe before swallowing.

Good luck guys. I called to buy some of their Striders yesterday. When I began asking for details about the knife, I quickly realized that it was an NXT, not a Strider.

When I pointed out the differences to the sales manager, he apologized, and told me they try to keep these mistakes from happening.

I noticed this morning, that the Strider is no longer listed on their site .... it has been removed.

Got a e-mail from cheaper than dirt today,
********************************************
When you saw the Buck Strider Tactical Knife for $28.75,(#2411631) you probably thought it was to good to be true. Well, you are right. Our first shipment arrived last night and what our supplier sent to us is completely different from what we had advertised on our site. We called Buck Knives directly to find out what had
happened and were told by their Consumer Affairs dept. that the knives our supplier sent us were from a close-out purchase of a discontinued model which has a part number (B281) similar to the Strider (281).

The Strider Tactical is a new model that Buck Knives has just introduced with suggested retail of $190.00 and according to Buck Knives, it is not even available yet.

Our description is downloaded directly from our supplier, so we were unaware of the problem until the actual knives arrived. We have removed the knife from our site as well as contacted our supplier to inform them of this grievous error.

We will be canceling your order today and if you were charged, you card will be issued a credit today.

Our sincerest apologies for the unintentional misconception.
Best Regards,
Deanna McGraw

Think I'll send them a e-mail insisting they honor the sale price for the knife. Might as well hold their feet to the fire and also expose the lies in their e-mail. Wonder how far this will go if everybody that ordered one does the same???

Yep, canceled my order with utmost haste. I am not by any means a Buck knife fan, but will however, make an exception for the Strider.
Now the search continues.

Yep, cancelled my order also...I noticed the model number when I was placing the order, but my greed got the better of me so I just ignored it and hoped for the best

Another lesson learned, again..

I got one of those cancelation e-mails also.... I figured if they wanted to sell 'cheaper than dirt' something I wanted, I was going to give them the chance. Gee! the ats34's aren't available yet.
wink.gif

Think Positive....At least they didn't try and send us something we didn't want!!

On my recent journey to Prague (Czech rep.) I purchased a Buck Strider First Production Run, BG-42 blade heat treated by Paul Bos. The price tag showed 9100 czech crowns. I´ts about 200 bucks!!
Do I have to say that there was no hesitation from my side? That knife disappeared from the store like butter in the sun

Do not buy anything from cheaperthandirt.com!!! They are not a legitimate business. They gave me a confirmation email then emailed me over a week later with a email saying that they will not sell the strider for so low. False advertisement, scam, fraud...fck cheaperthandirt.com!!!

I am looking to contact Jeff O directly about Buck Knives. Does anyone know how to contact him? Please email me if you do: taxman01@prodigy.net

rogue_spear,
i dont agree, although i do respect your opinion.i have made several purchases from them, all of them were what i ordered, and i have been very happy with them.mistakes happen.they should however, make up for it in some way free strider for everyone!
